Background:

Sherry Shavit graduated from UCLA magna cum laude in 1992. Following a career in Human Resources, Ms. Shavit received her J.D. in 1997 from University of Southern California. During law school, Ms. Shavit was an intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Shavit has worked as an associate with Ballard Rosenberg & Golper and Epstein Becker & Green before joining Brown Gitt Law Group as a partner. Ms. Shavit represents and counsels employers regarding discrimination; harassment; retaliation; wrongful termination; pregnancy, medical and disability leaves; wage and hour issues; breach of employment contracts; layoffs; trade secret protection and unfair competition. Ms. Shavit also prepares employee handbooks, employment agreements, and other employment policies and procedures, and conducts workplace investigations and training. Ms. Shavit was named a "Southern California Rising Star" in 2006-2010 by Law & Politics Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
